Mikumi National Park: Tanzania’s fourth-biggest national park which covers 3260sqkms. It’s additionally the most open from Dar es Salaam about 280kms.
The Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve): is the largest protected game reserve on the African continent covering an area of 54,600 square kilometers comprised of a vast wilderness with forests, grassy plains, mountains and open woodlands. This reserve was named after Frederick Selous Courtney who was a great Hunter and explorer.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Boat safari
Pick from your Hotel/ferry terminal at 08:00am and drive to Nyerere National Park about 200kms approx. 3 hours, upon arrival check inn at Selous Hippo Tented Camp, rest a little bit then have hot lunch, wondering around the camp watching primates such as monkeys, Baboons and mongooses. Start the Boat safari at 16:00pm with skipper (guide) along Might River Rufiji observing Hippos, Crocodiles, monitor lizards, different species of birds including resident and migrants; as well plenty of animals drift for water drink till sunset with fabulous view. Dinner and overnight at Nyerere Tented camp.

Day 2: Nyerere National Park Full Day Game Drive
After breakfast at 07:00am going for full day game drive with packed lunch till sunset, lunch will be taken at designated picnic site with facilities of toilets. This day you will cover plentiful of game drive along the river side through those oxbow lakes and other areas watching the big herd of Elephants, buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, impalas, giraffes, waterbucks, lions, hyenas, jackals and etc. Dinner and overnight at Nyerere Tented camp

Day 3: Mikumi National National Park
Pre-breakfast (hot coffee), wilderness walking safari with guidance of an armed ranger at 06:00am for take 2hrs, walking safari will give you a particularly intimate feel for the African wilds. Then back to the Camp for full breakfast and drive to Mikumi National Park with hot lunch on the way to mikumi via Mlandizi, small villages and farms. walking safari will give you intimate feel for the African wilds. Dinner and overnight at Mikumi Camp Bastian.

Day 4: Mikumi National Park Full Day Game Drive
On this particular day you will have full day plentiful of game viewing drives around Mikumi National Park. There is a rich variety bird species as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffaloes and elephants close to the water holes also lions, leopards and hippos. Furthermore, you can see zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Mikumi National Park is mostly miombo woodland with gently rolling hills. Dinner and overnight will be Mikumi Camp Bastian.

Day 5: Maasai Village
After breakfast at 07:00am, visit the Maasai village observing their lifestyle, culture, dancing and handcrafts ,hot lunch on the way at Morogoro town back to Dar es salaam
